Lisa graduated from the University of Leeds in 2012 with a first-class BEng/Meng degree in Fire and Explosion. After graduation Lisa moved to Aberdeen to start safety assessment work with DNV GL in the Oil and Gas Industry including working offshore. After a year, Lisa moved from Aberdeen to the Spadeadam Testing and Research Centre in Cumbria to carry out Hazard Awareness Courses – training offshore and on shore Oil and Gas workers in the dangers and real life hazards that can be experienced when things go wrong. After running these for two years, Lisa moved in to the Blast Team at Spadeadam and took over the running of Government blast trials including glazing trials to ISO 16933, Vehicle Bourne Devices, ballistic trials and other commercial blast trials.

Lisa joined Sheffield University in late 2015 to start a part time PhD investigating scaling of TNT Equivalence including an investigation of instrumentation of large scale blast trials.
